Alfons Grabher, born in 1974 in Vienna, Austria, is a graduate engineer specialized in biomedical engineering from the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna. He is also a graduate of a Feldenkrais® training (Munich City I) certified by the International Feldenkrais Federation. Alfons has over a decade of experience as a software engineer and has worked for nearly two decades as a private teacher and creator in the field of psychomotor learning and somatic education.
Alfons's YouTube channel, Improving Ability (created in 2008, previously titled Feldenkrais with Alfons), ranked #1 on Feedspot’s Top 20 Feldenkrais YouTube Channels in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. He is the author of several books, including an introduction to Feldenkrais classes, My Feldenkrais Book; a workbook with movement lessons, Getting Better Day by Day; and a study on language, essay writing, and movement instructions, Movement Based.
Alfons works with clients both via video chat and in person. Prior to the COVID-19 lockdowns, he maintained his own studio in Bregenz, Austria, for five years. His German-language website offers a collection of 70 class recordings and is one of the most visited Feldenkrais-related websites in the German-speaking world.
